Nancy Who?

Christmas Morning!

no make-up

Yikes!

“Nancy Kathleen!” I always knew when I was in trouble because my mother used my middle name when calling me. I never went looking for trouble, but it just sort of found me anyway.

Mother held the screen door open. “Nancy Kathleen, have you been playing in the mud after I told you not to?”

Lowering my big big brown eyes to the ground, I tried looking innocent. “No, Mommy.”

Mother frowned. “Yes, you were," she sighed, "and now we’ve got to change your clothes--again.”

I always wondered how she knew. I’d been careful to gather my dress up around my waist, so it wouldn’t get messy, and I washed my hands real good in the water faucet. I thought I’d taken care of everything. Many years later mother told me that the sash-ties on the back of my dress gave away my mischievous behavior! They were muddy and wet!

That’s been my life. Whenever I rely on my own wisdom; I invariably forgot something, which later comes back to get me. God is continuing to teach me to rely on Him in ALL things.

My wonderful husband of 19 years and I have homeschooled our three adopted children since 1995. I wish I knew then what I know now. Serving on the steering committee of the First Class Christian Homeschool Co-Op for five years has allowed me to encourage homeschool parents to not make the mistakes I’ve made.

I’m recognized as a CLASS communicator from CLASServices Inc. I received my CTM from Toastmasters in one year, and was awarded first place in the Toastmasters area 12 humorous speech contest. Currently I'm the immediate past president of our Toastmasters Club.

I’m almost a graduate of the Institute of Children’s Literature and I’ve written numerous articles. One was awarded “Most Practical Article” by CHEA. Currently I’m working on a book series for adolescent girls.

Even with many accomplishments, the Lord continues to humble and teach me to rely on Him and Him alone. Believe me, it’s no fun when my sash-ties tell on me!

My heart’s desire is that each person will be able to grasp the true nature of their Divine Heritage. Through speaking and writing I hope to convey this vital truth to the world.

Abundant Blessings!
